Turnitin  https://www.turnitin.com/ is a cloud tool which can be used as:

  • plagiarism control
  • feedback and grading of open assignments, esseys or reports
  • peer-feedback (Peermark)

You can use TurnitIn in Blackbaord via TurnitIn Direct Assignment. See: UvA Manuals

In TurnitIn Direct Assinment in Blackboard the student has to upload the document to be checked on plagiarism. If you wish to execute a plagiarism check (upload document) yourself as a teacher or a supervisor of the student, please contact ELO-scence@uva.nl about the procedure and the necessary credentials. Check the manual about it on the Docentensite in the Datanose (link to manual on Datanose)

See the FNWI policy about plagiarism control on the Docentensite:

UvA Information and Manuals voor lecturers:

If you have any questions, send an e-mail to ELO-science@uva.nl

At the Faculty of Science there is already experience with TurnitIn (see Good practice TurnitIn by Joris Buis).

From August 2017 TurnitIn is the UvA plagiarism check tool and it replaced Ephorus.
